Zoom drawing #5
A biro, a cold and some scrap paper
I almost didn’t switch on zoom last night, after three days on the sofa battling a persistent cold I thought I could probably let myself off just this time…
But then 5.56pm came around and I had exhausted Netflix, so I logged on with the only piece of paper and writing implement I could find in the house. As a result of the shockingly limited supplies I seem to keep at home, I was left with a blue biro, a sharpie and a piece of newsprint. Not exactly masterpiece materials but at least it was a slight improvement on the back of an envelope.
I started tentatively, thinking I could sketch in biro and get into the shadows with the Sharpie, forgetting that Sharpie and newsprint aren’t friends. So after a couple of failed attempts on the train I stuck to the biro and surprisingly enjoyed working within the limitations of free (inkcartridgedirect.com) blue biro.
The bananas are very weird and the lime is in the wrong place but I like the train and the hand, so not all bad!
I’m not sure this one will be going in my pile of favourites, but as ever, I’m pleased I logged in and found something to draw with, hopefully next week I’ll be back in the studio with a full range of supplies.
Playlist: I always try and have something playing whilst I draw, I so rarely listen to music when I work that this feels like a rare treat.
Florence + the Machine, Dance Fever
Time: about 30 minutes (I faffed quite a lot)
Drink: Lemsip (rock & roll)
